This training includes Advanced Diver, EAN/Nitrox Diver, Rescue Diver, and other certifications. In all our courses, we emphasize excellence of instruction. Equipment

Safe Scuba diving is largely dependent on good equipment and knowledge of its use and maintenance. However, most divers do not purchase all of their equipment at once. Our students are required to have their own personal snorkeling equipment including mask, snorkel. boots, and fins since these are not readily available for rent and because of personal sizing and preferences. This snorkeling equipment should be adequate for ocean diving since that is where we are going to dive.  We also recommend that new divers obtain a ventilated,  large Scuba gear-bag and Octopus necklace holder.   Entry-level Open Water students are advised NOT to purchase this equipment until after the first class when we go over the characteristics of good equipment and how to maintain it. Thus, we separate our first and second class meetings by at least two weeks to allow students to obtain this equipment for use in pool training. Darren at Scubaventures in Grand Junction provides a 20% discount for our students purchasing diving equipment while they are taking a course. Tuition for our courses includes the use of our Scuba gear that includes regulator with gauges, Octo or safe second, buoyancy compensator with auto-inflator, compass, and exposure suit. For our trips, Dennis of ScubAmerica provides rental of this Scuba gear for a very-reasonable $30-$40 for the entire trip. Although ScubAmerica does not receive any pay or commission for the purchase of equipment, we are always ready to provide advice to our students on the purchase of diving equipment.
